SIMPLY EDUCATION: SEN Primary PE Teacher


This school is situated close to the centre of Aylesbury, this enables them to use the excellent facilities to enrich and support the Curriculum. They also enjoy close links to mainstream secondary schools in the proximity to further strengthen their support network.

The school caters for 70 pupils who have MLD (moderate learning difficulties) and they are specialising in communication and interaction difficulties such as Autism. Class sizes are typical no more than 7 per class with full Teaching Assistant support.

The school are looking to appoint a Qualified Primary PE Specialist to join the team on a permanent basis from Sept 13. This role will involve planning and preparing exciting and engaging lessons for the younger pupils at the school. The key to success will be experience with SEN (obviously communication and interaction disorders would be beneficial), a positive attitude to teaching and a willingness to embrace the school's ethos by offering an exciting and well prepared lesson plan to your students.

The successful SEN Primary PE Specialist will;

- Be a Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT) or have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a PGCE, GTP or Bachelor of education.

- Have the ability and experience of teaching SEN pupils in the primary/secondary age groups.

- Be a Primary PE Teacher.

- Have strong classroom management skills.

- Be able to deal with challenging behaviour, and a patient and creative approach is necessary.

- Be able to teach in a flexible manner suitable for students with special educational needs.
